Steal a Brainrot is 100% free on Roblox. Developed by SpyderSammy and Do Big Studios, it launched in May 2025 and has surpassed 25 million concurrent players — the most of any Roblox game ever. The game is a competitive idle collector: buy meme creatures called brainrots, place them in your base to generate passive cash, and steal from other players while defending your own collection.
🚀 Getting Started
- Open Roblox on PC, mobile, or console — Steal a Brainrot is available on all platforms.
- Search for "Steal a Brainrot" or visit the game page by BRAZILIAN SPYDER / Do Big Studios.
- Join a server. You spawn at your personal base with $100 to spend.
- Your base starts with a 60-second lock — use this time to get oriented without other players stealing.
- Walk to the central Red Carpet (the conveyor belt in the middle of the map) to buy your first brainrot.
💡 Tip: Your first buy should be Noobini Pizzanini ($25) — the cheapest brainrot. Place it in your base and let it generate cash. Even $1/s adds up while you learn the game.
🧠 The Core Loop
Everything in Steal a Brainrot comes down to three actions repeated in a cycle:
- Buy — Purchase brainrots from the Red Carpet conveyor using in-game cash. Higher-rarity brainrots generate more income per second but cost significantly more. Competition is real — other players can snipe your purchase mid-transaction.
- Earn — Every brainrot placed in your base generates passive cash per second (CPS). The more brainrots you have, the faster you earn. Use traits and mutations to multiply your income.
- Steal — Enter an unlocked player's base, pick up their brainrot, and carry it back to yours. Carrying slows you down and alerts the owner. It's free income — but risky. Failed attempts mean getting hit by the owner's weapons.
🔒 Defending Your Base
- Lock Base button — press it to activate a 60-second protection window. After it expires, anyone can walk in and steal. Re-lock frequently when you have valuable brainrots.
- Weapons — buy bats, slappers, and traps from the Shop NPC to defend against thieves. Landing hits knocks them out of your base.
- Friend toggle — trusted friends can bypass your laser security, but remember: friends can steal too. Trust wisely.
- Traps — purchasable in the Shop to slow or stop thieves entering your base.
⚠️ Never leave a valuable brainrot unattended when your lock is about to expire. The community is ruthless — even a second of exposure can cost you a rare brainrot.
📈 Progressing Through Rarities
Steal a Brainrot has 8 rarity tiers. Your goal is to work up from Common to rarer and higher-income brainrots:
- Common → Brainrot God: obtainable by buying directly from the Red Carpet with in-game cash. No real money required.
- Secret: require large amounts of cash, spawn from Lucky Blocks, or drop during Admin Abuse events. This is endgame territory.
- OG: essentially unobtainable through normal play. Only a handful exist in the entire game. Trading or extremely lucky Admin Abuse participation is the only realistic path.
The best strategy for new players: buy the highest-rarity brainrot you can afford from the Red Carpet, and steal aggressively to supplement income. Attend Admin Abuse events (twice per week) for rare trait drops that multiply your income.
⚡ Key Mechanics to Know
- Traits: random multipliers applied to brainrots during events. The best trait is Strawberry (9x), only available during Admin Abuse. See our Traits page for all multipliers.
- Mutations: permanent color changes that multiply income. Gold (1.25x) and Diamond (1.5x) spawn naturally. Cyber (11x) is the best and only available during the Cyber event.
- Rebirth: reset your progress in exchange for better stats and a longer base lock timer. Worth doing once you've maxed out your early-game progression.
- Rituals: 10 hidden in-game easter eggs triggered by arranging specific brainrots. Each ritual summons a rarer brainrot. Details in our Farming Guide.
- Fuse Machine: currently the Summer Fuse Machine (Update 52) — combine multiple brainrots to produce rarer ones. See all recipes here.
